This competition mainly aimed at creating a positive morale with an amalgamation
of traditionalism through Folk Dance and modernism with Theme-Based
Choreographed Dance. There were basically two categories for this Dance
competition- the Junior Category with 28 teams. Many students participated to
bring alive our cultural heritage and to showcase various dances with
hard-hitting themes. On 4th Dec 2018 there was the Inaugural Ceremony

dance were presented. Their presentation was mindboggling and
themes were based on various social issues like- Women Empowerment, Save the
Earth, Flood, Cancer-Let’s Fight it, Old Age- Let’s care for them and Farmers-
the back bone of our nation. After all the presentations for three days the
judges provided brilliant analyses of how exactly folk dance and choreographed
dance should be performed. They placed their observation by mentioning certain
important points like there is no entrance and exit for folk dance, all should
respect the props that are used, the choreographers should teach the students
the relevance of each folk dance with the story behind it and choreographed
dance should be a dance with a theme and not a
mime or skit. These points were an eye-opener to the entire audience as it was a
learning experience for all.The
