Observance of International Day of Yoga 2021

A REPORT

International Day of Yoga was celebrated on 21st June, 2021 from 7.30am to 8.30 am with great enthusiasm by the students and teachers of AECS-1/JC, Tarapur under the able guidance of Shri. KashinathBehera, Principal ,AECS-1/JC, Tarapur. The chief guest for the day was Smt.DeenaPasad who has tried her best to meticulously preserve this treasured style of yoga in its pristine form for 22 years. This year owing to the COVID-19 pandemic situation and contagious nature of the disease we had live streamed the entire programme so that students and parents could follow the demonstration and perform the same sitting at home. All the teachers and staff assembled in the auditorium with enthusiasm to explore what the world of yoga would offer them. Smt Deena Pasad demonstrated warm up exercise and asanas which was followed by the teachers in unison. The main goal of the yoga instructor was to make the participants realize that yoga is not a single entity but synchronization between the body, mind and one’s spiritual conscience. She wanted to encourage compassion and contentedness, ease suffering and awaken the inner self. Various breathing exercises that were demonstrated really helped everyone to understand the nuances of breathing techniques like Brahmari,Kapalabhati, Anulom-Vilom Pranayama. The final exercise was  Hasya yoga that involves prolonged voluntary laughter with physiological and psychological benefits and this exercise was enjoyed by all the teachers. This was followed withvote of thanks by Shri Ajesh M.K,PET AECS-1,Tarapur. The theme of the International Day of Yoga 2021 is ‘Yoga for wellness’, a motto aligned to the current pre-occupations and we hope that everyone will practice yoga to form a healthy society
